Michal Siewierski on the job

Michal Siewierski on the job

In October of 2014, I was interviewed by Michal Siewierski (producer of Food Choices) right after Dr. T. Colin Campbell at the Center for Nutrition Studies in Ithaca, NY. Eighteen months later, on April 6 (two weeks ago), I attended the international premiere of this powerful new documentary in Chicago.

I made a special one-day trip from New York to join the producer, his family and friends for the occasion, and I am glad that I did. A prime motivator for me was that this is the VERY first movie in which I have been a member of the cast.

Now you have the chance to watch this movie for free; until midnight on Friday 4-22-16. Just visit the Food Choices website below and watch the two-minute trailer or you can go directly to watching the full-length movie by clicking on the Watch the Film NOW link. In that case, you will be emailed a link and password to commence your viewing.

In his new movie, Michal covers a plethora of reasons why all humans should be eating plant-based foods–beginning with human health, a topic that prominently features whole food, plant-based (WFPB) luminaries like T. Colin Campbell, John McDougall, Pam Popper and others. On the environmental side, I was honored to be included–along with my friend and colleague, Richard Oppenlander, who also made the trip to Chicago for the premiere.

Enjoy the movie and share with people you love!

About J. Morris Hicks

A former strategic management consultant and senior corporate executive with Ralph Lauren in New York, J. Morris Hicks has always focused on the "big picture" when analyzing any issue. In 2002, after becoming curious about our "optimal diet," he began a study of what we eat from a global perspective ---- discovering many startling issues and opportunities along the way. In addition to an MBA and a BS in Industrial Engineering, he holds a certificate in plant-based nutrition from the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies, where he has also been a member of the board of directors since 2012. Having concluded that our food choices hold the key to the sustainability of our civilization, he has made this his #1 priority---exploring all avenues for influencing humans everywhere to move back to the natural plant-based diet for our species.

Any way to buy a DVD of “Food Choices”

    • J. Morris Hicks says:

If you watched the DVD, that means that they now have your email address and will DEFINITELY let you know when it is available for sale as a DVD. Do you have any comments about the movie that you would like for me to pass along to Michal, the producer?

  2. Joanne Irwin says:

Here I am in the wee hours of the am – just finished watching “Food Choices”. Powerful. And so glad to see your movie debut. Great job, Jim. You know, though I’ve heard it all before; it’s in my DNA, I never, ever tire of the message re the vital importance of embracing a whole foods, plant based diet. Being an optimist for the most part, I confess to concurring with your experience, that even though the message is spreading and more people are becoming aware of how to take charge of their health, there are so many more who are among the walking dead. I saw it on a recent cruise. When I’m among 3000 people on a ship and the head waiter tells me I’m the only person requesting plant based foods, then I know we have a ways to go. Still, we’re at least moving in the right direction. I see more young people interested in this. That gives me hope.
Jim, you’ve come a long way since writing “Healthy Eating, Healthy World”. You are making a tremendous impact. Thank you!! Can’t wait for the movie’s release. I’ll show it on the Cape. Maybe, must maybe you and Justine will visit and do a Q& A after the film????!!!

    • J. Morris Hicks says:

Hi Joanne, Many thanks for your comments about the movie, sustainability and the road ahead together. Would love to come to the cape and participate in a screening of “Food Choices.”

      • Thanks. Good to know. I’ll keep my eyes and ears open for release date. Our historic Cape Cinema is open to showing like films!! Be well.

  3. Mitchell Castell says:

I had no problem. I did register beforehand though, not sure if that made a difference or not.

But overall, I think it is a great movie as it covers all bases. I was glad to see the inclusion of so many different authority figures, including yourself Mr. Hicks,

Let’s hope many people see the movie and that a large percentage “get the message” and start to transition to a WFPB way of life.

    Great job Jim!

  4. GJS says:

After “Thank You” I see no way to see video, no matter what I do. I tried it twice following your instructions with similar results.

    • J. Morris Hicks says:

Did you enter your email address? Have you checked your e-mail in box? After you get the email, it will contain the link AND the password necessary to view the film. Hope this helps?
