“Main Street Vegan” and “Responsible Eating and Living”

Radio shows for Team 4Leaf–two weeks in a row!

This afternoon at 4 pm, I am appearing on the R.E.A.L. show with Caryn Hartglass. Details for that telecast appear at the end of this article.

Last Wednesday, Dr. Graff and I were invited to appear on Victoria Moran’s one-hour “Main Street Vegan” radio show that airs “LIVE” at 3 pm Eastern every Wednesday. It was a thrill for me to listen as my co-author described publicly how she has totally re-tooled her 800-patient, family medicine practice since watching Forks Over Knives less than two years ago. She also confessed on “live” radio her own role in the incredible failures of her profession when it comes to promoting health.

Victoria is the author of twelve books, with her most recent being The Good Karma Diet, which contains one chapter written by yours truly. Kerry and I both enjoyed the show very much and thank Victoria for including us.

AZ jpg Book AdAs I said on the show, we feel like our 4Leaf Survey, book and other 4Leaf materials–are great tools for the world’s vegans to employ to gently introduce their carnivorous friends to the world-changing benefits of a whole food, plant-based diet. Benefits that go far beyond their own health. Just ask them to take our 4Leaf Survey at 4leafsurvey.com.

It’s been a great two weeks for Team 4Leaf. Our new book was published just one week before we appeared on the Main Street Vegan Show and three days after that, Dr. Graff and I attended Rip Esselstyn’s Engine 2, 4th annual Plant-Stock healthy eating retreat in Eastern New York. Under a big tent, we got to see many of the members of the Plant-Based Hall of Fame; people like Dr. T. Colin Campbell, Howard Lyman, Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn, Dr. Neal Barnard, Doug Lisle and many others.

Today’s radio show with Caryn Hartglass will air “live” at 4pm eastern. Her organization is called Responsible Eating and Living (REAL) and you can listen to our segment anytime by referring to this blog, where I will post a direct link later today.

Was just thinking this morning about the impact that Caryn Hartglass has had on my plant-based career since I first met her ten years ago in New York. At the time, she was the NYC director of earthsave.org, whose tagline “Healthy People, Healthy Planet” sounds a lot like the title of my first book, Healthy Eating, Healthy World.

Survey Image jpg How HealthySo how did Caryn impact my career? By hosting three separate NYC events in the fall of 2005, she facilitated my meeting Dr. T. Colin Campbell, Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn and Dr. Joel Fuhrman. Since then, I have gotten to know all three of them very well–and all three endorsed my first book. Thank you Caryn, look forward to speaking with you later today.

In addition to an MBA and a BS in Industrial Engineering, he holds a certificate in plant-based nutrition from the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies, where he has also been a member of the board of directors since 2012.
