The Harmony Project: Promoting health, hope and harmony on planet Earth

This project began in 2006 with a not-so-well-known website by the name of Since then, the project continues with this blog, the publishing of our book, my developing speaking schedule and the promotion of our 4Leaf Health Promotion Program for individuals and organizations. There is also a special project aimed at dispelling the “protein myth” regarding our perceived need for animal protein to be healthy.

All of the above is aimed at facilitating the move of the human race back to living in harmony with the rest of Nature on our planet. As reported in the 2009 movie, HOME; “Humankind has inflicted more damage on the fragile harmony of Nature in just the last fifty years than all other generations of humans for the past 200,000 years.” And the largest contributors to that damage has been the way we have chosen to feed ourselves in the Western world. The Harmony Project is dedicated to reversing that deadly trend by promoting what Nature intended for us to eat: a whole foods, plant-based diet.

Promoting health, hope and harmony is the overall theme of our book.

From our book’s Introduction. Millions of creatures have evolved throughout the ages on our planet, and until recently, they have all lived in harmony with nature. During the past few hundred years—a mere blink of the eye in history—one species has unknowingly thrown the natural scheme out of balance. That species is us—the human race.

Although we mean no harm for ourselves, for the planet, or for the other creatures, we have drifted far away from the natural diet for our species. We have started eating the wrong food—in great quantities. This change in diet has set in motion a series of chain reactions that has negatively affected the planet in many ways.

A Return to Harmony(from our book’s final chapter). Ultimately, our decision is a simple matter of health, hope, and harmony. As each of us begins to take charge of his or her own health, we simultaneously plant the seeds of hope, accelerating the pace with which the human race can return to living in harmony with nature. Since we consider ourselves smarter than all the other creatures, we should be able to figure out how to make our world a better place. The time for that action is now.

Unleashing the creative power that is held captive by the “protein myth.” Well over 90 percent of the wealthiest and best-educated citizens of the Western world truly believe that we “need” to eat animal protein to be healthy. Because of that belief, some of the greatest scientists, environmentalists and world leaders never even think about a plant-based solution to some of our most critical problems. Even though the health, environmental, economic and social benefits of a plant-based diet are enormous; because of this “protein myth,” the prospects of transforming our global feeding model to plant-based never even makes it to the table for consideration. My premise for action is simple.

All we need to do is dispel that protein myth — and in so doing, it will be almost like the key that opens the door of knowledge. Once the greatest thinkers of the world learn the truth about the food we eat, they will apply their great minds to global food-supply solutions that will boggle the mind.
