Then you should visit our MD Help page on this site.
Many people who are striving to take charge of their health with a whole food, plant-based diet will occasionally need the counsel of a medical doctor. They may need guidance when it comes to adjusting/eliminating their medications or they may need help with things like food allergies, digestive issues, cancer screening, autoimmune disorders and a host of other medical issues.
Unfortunately, the medical doctors of today didn’t learn much, if anything, about nutrition in medical school and are not aware that up to 80% of our costs of health care are driven by our food choices.
Since the majority of doctors still believe that you “need” to eat some animal protein to be healthy, they will not be able to properly counsel you as you make the shift to a whole foods, plant-based diet.
Good News! Plant-based “savvy” medical & naturopathic doctors now offering telephone consultations.
Our special MD Help page was first published in December of 2012. And I am pleased to welcome today our newest member: Dr. John Green of Australia.
I got to know Dr. Green earlier this year when he became the very first private donor to The Plantrician Project. Here is the way his information looks on our MD Help page.

Dr. John Green was born and raised in Australia and graduated in Brisbane from the University of Queensland Medical School. His experience and training includes thirty-five years as a specialist Family Physician involving intensive assignments in Africa, Asia, America, Europe, and Oceania.
As a wholistic specialist he believes it is not so important to know what kind of problem a person is having as it is to know what kind of person is having a problem.
For too long he believes that he, like many, was too blind to see because it is something so big to see – so sacred – that, at the heart of the call to the healing profession is the free gift of kindness, to be shared not just among humanity, but with all creatures great and small.
So began his very first lesson in the extraordinary wonder and beauty of whole food, plant-based living, of downsizing his footprint, the first authentic credential in the rhetoric of sustainable living.

Sadly, the majority of the MDs in the developed world were never taught how to promote health with food. They were trained to “manage disease” with procedures and medication.
And since most are likely eating the typical western diet themselves, they will be reluctant to encourage their patients to do otherwise. That’s where Plantrician comes in—bringing back to life the ancient wisdom of the most revered physician who ever lived—Hippocrates, saying 2400 years ago:
Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.
It’s crucial to get the world’s physicians onboard as they are the gatekeepers when it comes to dietary advice. Until they understand and embrace the benefits of a whole food, plant-based diet-and, in turn, promote patient adoption, this essential dietary shift on a broad scale will be elusive.
Our multi-faceted approach at Plantrician is designed to reach medical practitioners everywhere—ASAP. After hosting the world’s first Plant-Based Nutrition Healthcare Conference last October in Naples, FL—Plantrician will host the second one in San Diego, September 17-20. The Plantrician Project website will be launched any day now.
For more conference information and/or to register for San Diego, where you can meet Dr. John Green, who will be in attendance.
